As a small business owner, you are probably constantly faced with things that are outside of your comfort zone. Of course, you can hire people to do many of these things and you can even manage to simply not do some of them. However, if you step out of your comfort zone, you may be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Today, I was at a local town festival and overheard a small business owner talking to her friend.

I’ve been swamped with customers all day. It’s incredible. Can you believe I almost didn’t rent a booth because I was so nervous?

She did something she’d never done before and she had amazing success. Of course, she’ll probably have some flops when she tries something new, too, but I’d personally rather try a new way to do things and fail, especially if there were few risks to my business, than to not try at all.

  1. Well said! A lot of small business owners also have trouble seeing the benefits of outsourcing. Why hire someone when it is usually more cost effective to outsource such things as bookkeeping, administraion, creditor and debtor control? There are many service providers out there ready to help your business grow.
