Normally, family issues would become a cause for concern and an obstacle for people to pull-out from certain undertakings concerning any endeavor. But for John Edwards who life has been obviously highlighted with unavoidable life issues, the latest of which was the diagnosis of the return of his wife, Elizabeth Edwards, breast cancer illness.

Edwards, a 2004 vice president nominee, has already had to deal with the death of his son Wade in 1996 and this latest development is deemed something that will hurt his political campaign. Other than morally affecting his state of mind, the schedule for treatment of the curable breast cancer disease is sure to take its toll on Edwards.

However, his campaign will push through and from all indications; he will just have to deal with the situation as it is. While the roads to probable victory may not be bright, the sympathy of his co-candidates was expressed for the tough-luck candidate.
