If the thought of forming a corporation is overwhelming, but you are concerned about protecting some of your personal assets, you may want to start a limited liability company, affectionately known as a LLC. (When I first looked into starting a LLC, I called my state government to find out what I needed to do and made the mistake of calling it a limited liability corporation. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Apparently, it really upsets some people. The woman I was talking to literally yelled “No!? into the phone. It took me a minute to figure out that her loud response was to the use of the word corporation.)

A LLC requires very little paperwork and, with a bit of patience, you can file it yourself. However, as with anything that has any legal ramifications, you should take a minute to call your lawyer to be sure this is the right thing for you and your business. Most LLC’s can be formed cheaply, but don’t forget to find out about the cost of maintaining the company. In Maryland, you will need to pay three times the amount of your filing fee each year to keep your LLC active. I’d say it’s a good idea to ask for a breakdown of what you will need to pay to establish the company and what fees are required next year so you don’t end up with any nasty surprises.

If you file your own taxes, you’ll really appreciate one benefit of the LLC each April – you can still file as a sole proprietorship using form 1065. Just don’t forget to make your quarterly tax payments, too.

Insurance Ensures Protection

Before you make a final decision, you should be aware that an LLC does not protect you from personal injury lawsuits. If someone falls on the banana peel you tossed by the trash can, they can sue you personally. To protect your property, you should take out business liability insurance.

With nothing but war and combat on their minds, it is only fitting that the US soldiers should be looked after with care especially on the mental aspect of things. It is not surprising to note that most of the soldiers are being attacked mentally as well, seeing nothing but blood and mass destruction in their war plagued countries to which they were assigned.

Barack Obama has observed such a breach in the efforts to uphold the overall well-being of these soldiers and has vouched for such aid in an effort to help the US troops to enjoy some mental benefits rather than spending them on ammunition and other necessary things in line with the impending war in Iraq and Baghdad.

After all the disputes that included Congress and the Democratic front, all seems to be a circus of delaying the spending bill for the Iraq war. The bill was finally passed and approved and will be signed by Bush after months of ill-advised finger pointing and bickering that were obviously for no good reason or intent.

 

A lot of jousting and question were raised and with regards for the hope being wooed by the families of the casualties of war, it seems like a hopeless case. The war will go on and further lives will surely be claimed. It is just so sad since after all the debate done, it seems everything was just a means of delaying tactics and the issue being used as a campaign tool for presidential candidates on the upcoming elections. For Bush, he gets his wish. Hopefully it would be the right one and for the best of the United States.

Anywhere we go, the rampant growth of terrorist issues has obviously been a cause for alarm and much has been connected to most of the recent events. The United States, the acclaimed world leader, has been the hardest hit by the standing issue. A lot has to do with the so called belief that the US is invincible, making it in its inhabitants sitting targets by countries craving for power. Of course we all know that among these countries include that of Iran and Iraq.

The war on terror has not been restricted towards armies and democratic fronts. It has gone beyond bounds which have gone as far as victimizing local folks who are plainly living their lives and working for survival. Sadly, they have become the unlikely targets, making the country very much vulnerable towards security overall. But hopefully, the US governing bodies can continue their security measures if only to protect the safety of innocent lives who are being caught in the crossfire.

The mentioning of the Iraq issue is like calling out President Bush into the open to defend his claim with regards to the pullout and budgeting issue concerning the US troops in the war plagued country. While many would expect the sure defense mechanisms that Bush would blare out, it is imminent that Bush will always be at the forefront of the said issue and resort to all means possible to make sure that he is able to defend his claims and decision surrounding the security and offensive issues of Iraq.

Failure is not an option in Iraq. These are the very words that Bush has proclaimed and rightfully so. One falls approach towards the Iraq issue would return costly problems, most of which would include the overall safety of the country and his credibility standing with the democrats and congress today.

Already in lots of hot water, Bush is careful with his every move. It is obvious that he is indeed in a bubble. The best way to handle it is taking everything one step at a time. Otherwise, it may just burst; something that a lot of people have been waiting to happen.

Since the push of President Bush’ with regards for additional funding for deployed troops in Iraq was made public, many people from congress and the country have seen it as a form of pushing the war to the next level and disregarding the overall safety of the US troops, something that has been in the news for some time now.

But while this was viewed negatively, there have been rants for approving the funding incrementally in exchange for slowly pulling out the troops and funding the military needs through a timetable that congress will pass. From all indications, such is a good compromise since setting down the framework for such an ordeal is something that will sit well for both parties.

But the question remains, will Bush bite? Armed with a lot of pride, this resolution may perhaps be a good mark in determining on whether Bush is really intent on putting an end to it all, or is just gearing up to go on the offensive all the more to dominate the war plagued Iraq at the expense of additional US troops.

President Bush has openly solicited the support of congress in tackling the growing issue of illegal immigrants residing in the United States. It has been evident that the swelling number of illegally residing people in the state has been an issue that has haunted the nation for the past years.

Today, this issue has obviously been out of control and resorting towards deporting the millions of illegally located people in the country today is an impossible task to undertake. Hence, Bush proposed various alternatives such as a worker program to achieve a win-win situation. It is quite obvious that most of the immigrants residing in the United States are after work and greener pastures.

But in fairness to the legitimate residents, the swelling numbers should be controlled soon since at the rate everything is going, it seems that these illegal status of immigrants may soon become legal, getting away with the whole thing after all.

For some time now, the issue of the questionable dismissal by Atty. General Alberto Gonzales concerning the firing of eight U.S. attorneys has been the firing the headlines and from all indications, Gonzales better brace himself for further frying coming from the different sectors.

As its stands, all politician, republicans and so forth have openly criticized and questioned his ability to lead, even though Gonzales shares that he is not bothered by it…for now.

However, if the headlines are any indication, he is up for more issue ahead. Many have sent feelers for Gonzales to step down but unless he officially does so, the crisis is sure to remain in the air and the issue running around for the next couple of days.

For sure, there will be a lot of eagle eyes looking on and Gonzales is all too well aware of them. The question that remains for now is up to when he can handle it and what course of action can the attorney general possibly be thinking at the moment.

The hot news that has plagued the Internet and the news today is that of the Virginia Tech deadly shooting spree that claimed the lives of 32 lives and that of the gunman were killed. While the nation is still mourning from this untoward demise, it has reached the political aspect of things that of which is controlling the gun ownership of people roaming the streets.

For sure gun controls are connected with the upcoming elections, violence which may be a possibility stemming from the incident. While most people doubt it, it would be interesting if they would implement such a law for the duration and be stricter when it comes to carrying firearms today.

But this would most likely fail to materialize. Although there were similar measures in 1993 where congress passed the Brady bill and the assault weapons ban in 1994, this is unlikely to happen. With the evident decline for support of such an occurrence since the 90’s, it doesn’t seem that any of the presidential candidates would use this as a leverage tool to boost their chances on the upcoming elections.

We are all aware of the new reliance of people with regards to electronic mail today as a proof of conversations and communication between two parties or groups. The US administration has used this new offer of technology as a means of communicating internally and this includes both confident and common communication proceedings.

It is also a fact that that administration has been under fire for the reported loss of over 5 million e-mails at the White House server and this is an issue that could go out of bounds considering that it is a violation of the federal Presidential Records Act.

It has not yet been confirmed if the loss of the tons of e-mails were done intentionally but one thing is for sure, the White House is all screwed up!

Millions of White House e-mails may be missing, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino acknowledged Friday.

“I wouldn’t rule out that there were a potential 5 million e-mails lost,” Perino told reporters.

The administration was already facing sharp questions about whether top presidential advisers including Karl Rove improperly used Republican National Committee e-mail that the White House said later disappeared.

The latest comments were a response to a new report from a liberal watchdog group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), alleging that over a two-year period official White House e-mail traffic for hundreds of days has vanished — in possible violation of the federal Presidential Records Act.

“This story is really now a two-part issue,” CREW’s Melanie Sloan told CNN. “First there’s the use of the RNC e-mail server that’s inappropriate by White House officials and secondly we’ve also learned that there were between March of 2003 and October of 2005 apparently over 5 million e-mail that were not preserved and these are e-mail on the regular White House server.”

Perino stressed there’s no indication the e-mails were intentionally lost, but she was careful not to dispute the outside group’s allegations. “I’m not taking issue with their conclusions at this point,” Perino said. “We’re checking into them.
