I’ve heard it said before that politeness is the grease on the wheels of a civil society. While I can never remember who said that quote, or whom they adapted it from, I feel it’s more true as technology progresses.
With email, voicemail, faxes, telephones and so on, the ability to give into our impulses and forget our manners. As much as it might seem very basic to express this, it’s a point that we’re all constantly forgetting. You’re always more likely to get help if you’re polite. As much as the blustering people think their way is better, they will never get the same quality of service as a polite person. That applies in big companies just the same as it does in small restaurants.
Take IT. Sadly, IT is the sad child of the corporate world in many instances. People don’t call IT because they’re happy, they normally call when something’s wrong. And while they didn’t cause our computer to crash, they get all of our frustration.
With any job, there is a latitude available to the employee. The employee can do what is required, or go beyond the requirements. Only kindness gets them to go beyond the requirements for you.
So, the next time you’re in a tense situation, take the extra time to be polite. While it’s not easy, you mind find your problems being fixed when you didn’t think they could be solved at all.

The fluctuation of the currency, particularly the major exchange rates towards the dollar, pound or yen play more than just pure numbers in the businesses of today. The medium of exchange between countries heavily relies on the values attached to the commodities, goods and services that a country specializes in and is particularly known for. In most cases, haggling points that lead towards discounting and special arrangements to consummate the deal in whole will be the focal point for a successful business transaction and continuous partnership between two organizations or individuals.
The key for most organizations is to strike a deal that will provide a quota or bulk purchase for a single transaction or an agreed certain period of time. The period of time is usually a year to which a proprietor agrees to ship a certain number of goods, usually in containers to which he will have to find ways on how to be able to effective push and market such goods to the local market he is located in. At this point, we can effectively see that transactions seem to be complicated in nature, but to be a success in any business undertaking, he or she should know how to manage and go around the facts to be able to make a profit out of the initial investments made.
Budget is a key element as well. Not all parties will provide an open budget, and will usually apply a constraint to be able to put pressure and a certain frame to which the deal can be maximized. The potential earning and promise of a product or good can only be realized, maximized and utilized if it is tested under such conditions, with all external and internal factors evaluation in tow. This in turn becomes a measure on how good an effective management team can build under such given elements, something that will truly put them towards a test of character and wits.

Similar to how organizations maintain a corporate portfolio to allow its potential partners and would be investors and customers to gain interest is the religious practice of updating individual resume for potential and rewarding careers. Educational background, career highlights, affiliations and work experience are among the key areas to which most headhunters and corporate human resources department would immediately look out for.
Highlighting the points that will gain the nod and interest of most people would rely heavily on the work credentials and the highest form of degree and education anyone possesses. The degree to which a person may have in his resume may not be entirely reliable. In most cases, the trend based on the work experiences gathered by a person will most likely narrate the complete qualification and expertise of a person and how he will be able to fit in the organization to which he is aiming to join.
Finally, the presentation of the resume of a person is considered as the representation of the person as well. How effectively an individual is able to compose and present his resume upon submission to the different organizations that he is aiming or dreaming to be part of will truly be the telling factor. The desire and need he or she wants to accomplish will depend much on how they were taught to make their resume, the format and presentation most of the time that catches the interest of interviewers at first glance.

Traditions are a part of any organization. Over time, an unwritten code of procedures and operations will develop to match the written one. This might include simple things such as dress code policies and shipping times, or more complicated things such as filing procedures.
This unwritten code fills the gaps in the written code and evolves much faster. While the written manual might provide instructions for the network as of 10 years ago, the unwritten code will provide the current one.
We often take both the written and the unwritten traditions of an organization for granted. They are rarely questioned. Well, summer is here, and it’s time for some belated spring cleaning. Why do we do things the way we do is a question you need to ask.

Being adept with technical knowledge and information with regards to a certain thing is a whole lot different when compared to putting together a team and leading by example. For sure, there is a distinct difference between the two. In most cases, a conflict of interest may arise, siding with one expertise over the other is not really a fair and proper way to negotiate for the solution towards the problem at hand, but more on a conflict of interest to which most people would want to avoid. No doubt that people who have garnered the proper knowledge through studies, mentoring and apprenticeship will be an advantage for any person in any endeavor. However, being able to deliver and pass this on towards students for the proper way of learning is another manner to which most people should consider. Not all good leaders can be teachers and in the same way, not all good teachers can be good leaders. In such crisis, a decision has to be made, and honestly, such will not sit well with all parties concerned. Varying inputs, beliefs and decisions shall be put into the mix, most of the time setting a barrier and a world divided. In any case, the ultimate decision should be for the welfare of the majority and should not be for the sole interest and good of one man alone.

Working on a daily basis, five to six times a week may prove to be routine and sometimes become boring for most employees. Doing the same work, duties and responsibilities all over again would seem like an automated schematic for most people, the only mode of measurement for improvement is that of speed and efficiency. In the first stages, it would only be normal to encounter various errors, and problems, something that anyone would need to experience to improve on their current position in any organization.
Â
Speaking of improvement, this is a key towards everyone’s aim towards enriching their career growth.
